Saint Kateri Tekakwitha was canonized on September 21, 2012 by Pope Benedict XVI. She lived a life dedicated to prayer, penitential practices, and cared for the sick and aged. She is patroness of the environment and ecology, and her feast day is July 14.
In 2012, as part of our Faith Plan theme, “Taking our Place at the Table”, we adopted Saint Kateri as our patron saint.
